Texting While Driving
Pennsylvania has now joined a growing number of other states which ban texting while driving.
On November 9, 2011, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett signed Senate Bill 314 which makes it a primary offense to text while driving. The prime sponsor of the Bill was Bucks County Republican Senator Robert "Tommy" Tomlinson. Under the Bill, violators will be subject to a $50 fine, but they will not be subject to points. The new law took effect March 8, 2012. To view the text of the new law, click here.
